God Healed My Neighbor Of Stroke

Julie Teig – 12/6/24

God is so good!! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™Œ

This morning my doorbell rang at about 5:30 am.

I got up to see who it was there and it was my neighbor, Fred.

He apologized for waking me up so early but he was uncertain what to do. He told me he felt numbness in his left hand and he thought his speech was a little slurred, which I noticed it was. I told him to come in because it’s cold outside and he needed help.

He came in and sat down and started to tell me that he was out on his walk when he felt something not right and noticed the numbness in his hand, he couldn’t feel anything. So he shortened his walk and headed back home, but didn’t go into his apartment but stood outside trying to decide what he should do, thinking he needed medical attention but couldn’t get his cell phone out of his left pants pocket. He decided to ring my doorbell and wake me up.

I asked him some questions to find out what he wanted to do; he really didn’t want to have to call 911 and go to the hospital. He decided that he really needed to get checked out so he asked me to call for him.

Emergency services dispatched my call to medical personnel as I gave names address, etc. She told me the paramedics were on the way and proceeded to ask questions to assess Fred’s condition and his responses to her questions. It seemed to me he had a minor stroke based on his physical responses. (Fred was concerned he had too.)

After I got off the phone with her, I asked Fred if I could pray for him. He said yes so I did. I was holding his hands and prayed against the numbness, I put my hand on his left shoulder and prayed against slurred speech and paralysis and covered him in the blood of Jesus. I don’t remember what else I said. He gave me his keys to hang on to for him and told me his cats were already taken care of with water and been fed so they would be okay all day.

Shortly after that, I heard the paramedics and told Fred they were here and that he was going to be okay. They came in (6 men) and went right to work… one guy started getting information from me about what happened, Fred’s name and apartment number etc., and two guys were attending to Fred.

As they were asking Fred questions, I noticed his speech was better! PTL! I mentioned that to the guy who earlier was getting info from me and he nodded yes. I asked him if he had classes today and he didn’t. (He teaches at the jr. college nearby.)

They decided to take him to the nearest hospital emergency and got Fred’s consent to go there. We’re on the 2nd floor so they were going to use a stair stretcher, and then hesitated and ask if Fred thought he could walk down the stairs, assisted and he thought he could do that. I agreed out loud saying, “You can do it, Fred”. So he stood up and they said, “You ready to go?” He said yeah and told me he would call me later. This all took place in about 25 minutes. Now Fred is 75 years old and fully vaxed. ๐Ÿ™โœ๏ธ He had a heart attack in 1998 and a stint put in at that time.

Missy had texted me while Fred and I were talking and again right after they all left so I called Missy to get her to agree with me in prayer for Fred and we prayed together for him and thanked God for his healing and protection.

Fred called me about noon (6 hours later) and told me that he was feeling good. He sounded good with no slurred speech and he said he wasn’t feeling numbness anymore. They had run a C-T Scan and that all had checked out, but the doctor at ER still wanted to run an MRI. (We know how they want to look for things…) He told me that his regular cardiologist came to see him in the ER and that if it were up to him, he’d tell him to go on home.

Now I can’t remember all we said on the phone, but basically I asked Fred if he wanted to have the MRI test done, if he thought it was necessary now that he was feeling so good and symptoms were gone, etc. and if he felt confident with what his doctor (who he knows and trusts) said about going home. He said something like, “they might find something.” That’s when I praised God and told him that God had healed him, that this was a miracle he felt so much better. That those symptoms don’t just go away like they did. And if they do run any more tests, they won’t find anything.

He also was told that it would be “tonight sometime” before they would get that MRI because there were others waiting for the test too. (Hmm ๐Ÿคจ) But he told them he wanted to go home today.

So I asked him if I could pray for him about all that and he agreed. I prayed that if Fred felt it was necessary for the test, that he would have it in the next couple hours and then he could go home and that they would not find anything because God had healed him. Also that Fred wouldn’t pick up anything from any sick people in the hospital and that he’d be home that afternoon.

Later this afternoon about 4:20, I got a text from Fred that he was at the El Cajon transit station waiting for the 816 bus to get home!!! He arrived here for his keys about 5:15 pm.

Hallelujah!!

He told me the ER doctor wanted him to stay the night and they had a bed ready for him. He said, “No, I’m going home.”

Praise God!! I’m believing God will give Fred repentance to believe the Gospel and come into the Kingdom!
