Hurricane Katrina & New Orleans/Gulf Coast

Thursday evening, when I came in from work, I was watching a weather newscast on Hurricane Katrina. It showed it about to hit southern Florida. Then they showed its tract and showed it going back out to sea and hitting the north part of Florida but as I watched it I could see like a different pattern. The hurricane would continue on across Florida and into the Gulf. It headed toward the Mississippi coast. So I believe the worst will also hit there.

I was awakened at 4:30 this morning and turned on the television...they had just upgraded Hurricane Katrina to Cat. 5. I have not been able to go back to sleep. This is a judgment hurricane - apparently, the name Katrina means 'pure'. In April, I received a dream with the name of Picayune in it, at which time, I did not know where that city was. I immediately went to the internet and looked it up....I found it in the Mississippi lower delta region. It was a disaster warning dream which I was impressed upon to contact their local authorities. I sent an email to Picayune Newspaper on Apr. 5., about my dream, and for them to contact local emergency authorities about it. I never received any reply from them.

I also contacted a radio station, because of another name given in that same dream, San Francisco. That part of the dream had something to do with a small square box attached to a bridge in San Francisco. However, the first dream felt like a natural disaster, not terror related. Today, that has been confirmed to me...the Lord said there will be 'no reprieve' on this one. I have been feeling a great sense of foreboding in my spirit all day, deep in my spirit. One more thing, in the part of the dream referring to San Francisco, I saw a black haired, slender man in his 30's approx., at a desk at a radio station in that city; and I had called him to relay this warning, and I could see that he was amused, not taking it seriously.

I am reminded of a book by John McTernan and Bill Koenig which traces and directly links natural and economic disasters nationwide in the U.S., with our government's involvement in dividing up the land of Israel. The book is called ISRAEL, The Blessing or the Curse (Hearthstone Publishing 2002).

Here is an excerpt from page 95:

God's Perfect Storm Warnings

"The last three presidents have all been personally touched at the exact time they were involved with forcing Israel over the covenant land. Each president has been given what appears as a "Perfect Storm Warning".

The book goes on to describe how, in 1991, 1997, and 2000, presidents Clinton and George H. Bush, and then Governor George W. Bush, respectively, experienced devastating tornadoes, hurricane and drought, each in his home state. The authors claim these disasters were directly related to the negotiations that were taking place regarding the "forcing" of Israel.

Just last week or so, I heard that Israel was removing itself from the Gaza territory. And now, the United States is experiencing Hurricane Katrina, a "monster" storm, surpassing even the strength requirements for a "Category 5" hurricane...

The world calls them "natural disasters" and "acts of God". Believers know that these are judgments brought about by God and that His judgments are acts of love, to wake up His people and to shake up the lost. May His perfect will be done.

4 Dreams of New Orleans

April 24, 1995

These dreams and conclusions reached have not been widely broadcast. I have shared them with my husband, Ray, who in turn spoke to a brother he knows at work. This man told my husband that the Lord has been lately bringing him to passages throughout the Bible concerning the City of Nineveh. And that, he has determined that the City of New Orleans and the historical location of Nineveh are the same latitude on the map. When I heard this, I looked at the maps in my Bible and saw that the city of No, referred to in Nahum 3:8, is actually NO-AMON, the ruling god of the city of Thebes, which was located on the Nile. I know that the Nile flows south to north, so (don't laugh), when I turned the map upside down, it looked similar to the location of New Orleans on the Mississippi on reference to the delta or the mouth of the river.

April 2, 1995

(1) At a friend's apartment in a high-rise building. There were several people milling about in all the rooms and 3 babies in the bedroom who needed changing. A woman (P. Lewis?) was sitting on the floor of the kitchen in a dark puddle of water. She was trying to open the broiler compartment of the stove, but her feet were extended out in front of her against the broiler door. She asked me where did the water come from. I shook my head. No one else in the apartment seemed to know. I walked into another room which had a window view of the outside. We were apparently on one of the upper floors of the building. There was a tall brick structure, like an oversized chimney or elevator shaft which stood the entire height of the building. It had separated away from the main structure and was leaning to the left. This situation had existed for many years and the tenants had accepted it as normal. From the interstate, it could be seen and it's as if the entire city had always accepted this oddity as well, something like its own Tower of Pisa. No one had ever tried to fix it or even reinforce the structure. As I gazed out the window at this thing, I noticed it seemed to be leaning out even more than I remembered. Then it moved slightly. I looked away, not trusting my own eyes and thinking, "this thing has never fallen, why would it do so while I'm in the building?" Then someone gasped. I looked again to see it begin to fall in slow motion. We all heart it hit the ground and thought, "Will our building be next?" As I looked out the window, I was the horizon slowly begin to tilt and knew our building was going down next. I closed my eyes and loudly began to call upon the Lord praising and thanking Him. "JESUS, THANK YOU MY LORD AND SAVIOR" (and then I awoke).

April 3, 1995

(2) An unsaved friend from the world, Don, was living in one of the two-story duplexes out by UNO (University of New Orleans). There was a strange unsightly tree in front of the house with bark falling off and bare branches except for some large bulbous gourd-looking fruit at the tips of the branches, which were surrounded by smaller gourds and some large green leaves. He said he didn't know what it was or what to do with it. There were some other details about being in a car with an American Indian driving (a middle aged man, he was dressed in denim with a long braid down his back), but they are very sketchy. I awoke with a phrase in my mind: "The Book of Job having the number 10 shot throughout".

April 20, 1995(approx)

(3) An entire city block across the street from M. & C. Winters' home had been leveled. The structure had been a very large bar, perhaps a casino. The bar (fixture) itself had had a railing or armrest that ran the length of it, and this railing had change and coins packed all along its length (something like when loose change drops and gets wedged in the crevices of a sofa). I walked across the street to this demolition site with the intent of finding and keeping as much of the coinage as I could. A brother (in the Lord) (F. Alvarez?) was already there, doing what I though was the same. But he was tossing aside all but the pennies, which he intended to present to the owners and buy from them at full cost. I was convicted and awoke with some questions: Does the money belong to the previous owners of the bar? Does it belong to the current owners of the city block? Or is it up for grabs?

(4) In what seemed to be a school building, I was waiting for R. Lawson to let me know when the meeting was to start. I had gone outside and was looking in (through) a window when (I finally saw him approaching the window from the inside). He looked out the window at me and told me it was time to go wash my face and hands and come to the meeting. I hurried through several hallways, doors, and down a staircase to the bathroom with "NAHUM" posted on the door, all the time wondering why I should wash my face. As I was rushing back not to be late for the meeting, maybe halfway there, a stranger approached me and said he had come for the meeting but needed to use the restroom first. I knew I wouldn't be able to give him accurate directions to it, since I wasn't sure how I had found it myself, so I felt obliged to take him there. All the time, I was anxious because I knew I was now late for the meeting. I took him as far as the staircase and then pointed out where he would find the bathrooms. I awoke with the phrase: "Nahum posted on the door".

Comments:

After recording these dreams, I went to the Bible to find and read the Book of Nahum. (Dream 4) Although I was new to the Bible and had not remembered ever seeing such a book, I instinctively knew it would be there.

Please note the number 3 (infants needing diaper change) in the first dream, and the number 10 in the Book of Job (second) dream. What is the significance?

The city of New Orleans is the city of Nineveh (capital of Assyria) in that book:

Nahum 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry. New Orleans is known as a place of conspicuous sexual immorality and alcoholic consumption.

14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile. Reference to the widespread idolatry of this city, both religious and secular.

Nahum 2:6 The gates of the rivers shall be opened, and the palace shall be dissolved. New Orleans is surrounded by "levees" (raised embankments) that hold back the waters of the Mississippi River.

8 But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back. New Orleans sits several hundred feet below sea level, and has been like a pool of water from several past floods.

9 Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.. Does the dream (3) about the coins in the bar railing touch on this scripture?

Nahum 3: 1 Woe to the bloody city! it is all full of lies and robbery; the prey departeth not; Crime and murder rampant.

4 Because of the multitude of the whoredoms of the well favoured harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her whoredoms, and families through her witchcrafts. Roman Catholic Church has had a big influence in the area since the founding of the city.

5 Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will discover thy skirts upon thy face, and I will shew the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame. 6 And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazingstock. 7 And it shall come to pass, that all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her? whence shall I seek comforters for thee?

8 Art thou better than populous No, that was situate among the rivers, that had the waters round about it, whose rampart was the sea, and her wall was from the sea? This accurately describes the city of New Orleans, whose official abbreviation is N.O.

10 Yet was she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the top of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honourable men, and all her great men were bound in chains. Compares New Orleans to the former city of No and what happened to her. Seems to describe the high violence and murder rate among the youth, as well as the mention of the spirit of gambling and greed which has overtaken the city.

16 Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the cankerworm spoileth, and flieth away. Mammon is a driving force in this city, and certainly the reason for the inflooding of all types of gambling and revenue.

17 Thy crowned are as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which camp in the hedges in the cold day, but when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they are. 18 Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell in the dust: thy people is scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth them. City and church leadership. I feel the Lord is pointing to both spiritual and secular leadership. At Wednesday night service, April 19, 1995 (Believers' Fellowship), an interpretation of tongues came forth naming twice the spirit of Assyria. Possibly a stronghold over New Orleans.

19 There is no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the bruit [news, rumor]of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually? The prophecies of revival beginning at the mouth of the Mississippi and spreading up and out through the nation may well begin, not as an outcropping of the seed of revival in New Orleans, but as a result of the utter destruction and desolation of the city; perhaps of the entire deep south region of the State of Louisiana.

But the Lord encourages His remnant of believers who live there:

Nahum 1:7 The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble, And He knows those who take refuge in Him.

And He tells them what to do:

Nahum 1:15 Behold, on the mountains the feet of him who brings good news, Who announces peace! Celebrate your feasts, O Judah; Pay your vows. For never again will the wicked one pass through you; He is cut off completely.

I feel the Lord has admonished me to "publish" peace, to spread the gospel and lift up the name of the Lord beyond our one-to-one ministry or Bible group discussions. To go out and touch as many as possible.

What I saw in this vision: This morning I heard the abundance of a mighty earthquake having just occurred in the heavenlies. A major shift is taking place in God's realm of the spiritual and the supernatural. Yet again, I was overwhelmed that I felt He impressed during this time that our country will experience soon what I saw in the spiritual--major earthquakes and extreme flooding. Flooding was seen in the central and the Southern United States. I saw New Orleans literally 20 feet underwater across the main downtown area. At this time of flooding in New Orleans, I saw it as a sewer full of debris and every form of garbage floating around and swirling in the flood. The French Quarter will be wiped out in the flood. Bourbon Street will be abandoned. Alligators will be swimming where dens of iniquity once abounded.

Sin's investors will let go of the territory. They reside in other areas and will be seeing this as a place of unstable investment for future plans of sin. God's Kingdom investors will step in and be allowed to bid on properties abandoned by the sin investors. Then the superdome will be available to purchase for 1/10th of a cent on the dollar! This will one day be called the "Glory Dome" as a move of God will be based out of it and make it a "Healing and Restoration Center" grabbing worldwide attention. This Glory Dome will go on continually on a 24/7 basis. ("9 The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts". Haggai 2:9 KJV.)

Note from Dave: At first New Orleans thought they had escaped the worst case scenario but then the levee broke. In this God was merciful for had it broken during the storm the city would have filled so fast that many more would have died.

New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin confirmed the breach in a local TV interview. City fire officials said the break was about 200 feet long in the levee surrounding the 17th Street Canal. "My heart is heavy tonight", Nagin said in the interview on WWL-TV. "I don't have any good news to share. The city of New Orleans is in a state of devastation. We probably have 80 percent of our city underwater. With some sections of our city, the water is as deep as 20 feet".)

Disaster: New Orleans / Mexico

I believe this dream is referring to the hurricane Katrina. The reason why I saw the people in winter clothes and scarf's now that I understand how to interpret dreams means these people are cold hearted. They have no warmth from God. The hole is hell when they descend into it when they die not knowing God because they never repented or accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The bridge represents a safe place as God gave these people a space to repent but they did not. The colors in the sky representing fireworks are divine judgment in the hurricane the people are looking up at something in the sky. The cracking, banging and snapping is the houses and things being torn apart by the force of the storm. The stone wall with a door and chain means those who die and descend into hell no one can get them out this is why I saw no bodies. It is a done deal. Judgment begins in New Orleans and Ends in Mexico shows this is the beginning of judgment for this dream and it will end after the judgment of the Lords choosing hits Mexico. This judgment in this dream ends the Judgment in Mexico ... so possibly another hurricane will hit Mexico now. We will see what this judgment will end up being. God doesn't lie. The people were warned as I did obey God and sent this out in December. 12-6-04. Let us pray through Gods Judgment many will now seek the Lords face. Amen.

In the dream I am standing in water. It is lapping against my ankles. I realize I am standing at a sea shore line; where the sand meets the water. I can hear the water gently rolling in. I begin looking around it is a very dark night. For some reason it seems darker then an ordinary night. I cannot see the stars shining. The water and air is cold. I do not like what I am sensing. Right where I stand above my head appears a white puffy cloud. Bright light is illuminating from this cloud, lighting my immediate surroundings. I know that God is with me. He is in the cloud.

I have a better view of the water it looks very dirty. An undercurrent has stirred up the water. I stand as I am alone yet God is with me. I am anxious within. I know something is about to happen. I hear noise, it is echoing from a distance. I look out into the sea, I can see a pier. I can see a few thousand people packed together tightly on this pier. They have no room to move. They are packed in like sardines.

They are dressed in winter clothes. I can see winter hats and scarfs. They are all faced towards the East and looking up at something. I hear a great rumbling in the sky its right in front of them. I also hear, "Boom! Boom! Boom!" I see colors of red, blue, green and yellow. From where I stand it resembles fireworks. The rumbling intensifies; the colors of light are getting larger and brighter.

I hear a lot of commotion. Screaming and yelling. I hear creaking and cracking sounds. Banging and snapping. Its very loud now. My attention is now on the pier. In an instant the pier starts to crack in two. The foundation is rattled. It begins to sway and give away.

I see a hole open up around the pier like a large mouth. It starts out small and rapidly grows larger and larger. I hear what sounds like a roaring noise. There is so much noise its hard to hear the separate sounds. I am not sure what is taking place. I am gripped in fear. I stand trembling while watching.

I see the pier completely snap in two. The center pieces of the pier head first into this large hole that is open up. The water around and in this hole is spiraling and churning quickly. Every person on both sides of the pier slide down rapidly into this large hole. Many bust through the side railings as the pier crashes down hard into the ocean. I can hear their screams.

In this intensified moment, I realize there is nothing I can do. This disaster must run it's course. I fear for every single soul, Men, Women and Children. I am sensing in my spirit the Lord has warned enough. Now disaster strikes quickly and unexpectedly. To all who would not listen to him.

I watch it horror as the sea swallows the pier and every person who was standing on it. This happened so fast, there was not enough time to do anything. These people were unaware their lives just ended tragically. Death consumed them in just a few last heart beats. I was so grieved in my spirit. I was praying I would find some survivors. Somehow I knew I would not. The water starts to swell, yet I feel the water pulling back. I can still hear a loud roaring sound the wind begins to pick up.

I begin to walk deeper into the water so I can swim towards the wreckage. I see purses, wallets, credit cards and cash, wallet size photos all floating on top of the water. Worldly possessions now left behind. I am frightened in what I might find as I swim closer. I am now approaching the disaster site. So far I only see a rough sea. Waves are swelling. The wind is blowing harder. I can not see a single person in sight. There are no bodies.

Instantly from underneath the water a smooth stone wall starts rising up. This wall is very large in length. I can see a door etched out in the stone. This door has a chain and lock around it. I can not go any further. I am not permitted access. I now sense in my spirit this is a done deal. There was nothing I could do to help them.

All I was saying within my spirit was, I just witnessed the mouth of hell swallow them up! Great mourning consumed my spirit. The Lord clearly spoke these words audibly.

There will be a Nightmare Catastrophic Event.

It will begin in New Orleans and end in Mexico.

As I type this dream lightning is striking and thunder is rolling all around my home.

Note: The message below was posted for Florida exactly one year ago, but it is also relevant for Louisiana and Alabama. Florida didn't take God's message to heart, will Heartland America? God is washing America's feet, but will we notice and begin wash each others' feet rather than flee from judgment. Surely it is time to get real, to be vessels of God's glory in our nation. Nearly all of God's people are infants spiritually, but they believe themselves to be mature. This is a result of following immature, prideful leaders who call attention to themselves rather than to Christ within.

Katrina means 'pure'. What a name for what may be the worst-ever storm to hit both Florida and Louisiana!

Here is an example of their great offense to God in our mega-churches and other institutions. A 'Christian' mega-church leader dared to write in a book published world-wide: "I am not a spiritual man". (See Silent No More, Islam Chapter, by Rod Parsley.) Then he proceeded to compare spiritual men to granola bars of flakes, fruits and nuts. Doesn't he realize that he is calling the Spiritual Man Jesus Christ and all of His loyal followers fruit cakes? Do none of the elders of this huge institution have the spiritual discernment to recognize the great rebellion in a pastor who dares to reveal that he is not spiritual? Since this pastor claims to be a spiritual leader, by what spirit does he lead? There is much witchcraft (rebellion) in the 'Christian' institutions, and God's people love it so! Such foolishness is basic to what is wrong with American Christianity, and why God's judgment must come upon us if there is no repentance and correction

Remnant, pray for Truth and responsibility, and cease to support the witchcraft.

Yes, saith the Lord, I am the author of the wind, of both the gentle breeze that blows refreshing rain to your lands, and of the violent storm that breaks your works and shakes your complacency. When you pray against the hurricane, are you not praying against my judgment? My people, should you not ask me, "Lord, where have we disobeyed, where are we in sin?" When I send multiple storms, is it not because you haven't sought My face, and have ignored my calls to turn from your wicked ways?

World-renown ministries have grown in your state, Florida, and you have been given great responsibility to exhibit My Glory. These ministries became prideful and led My Body into apostasy, further dividing it into parties; calling attention to themselves and not to My Son. Now repent of your pride, you elders, and gather together before me with humble hearts to seek My face. Learn of My righteousness first, follow My guidance, and then ask Me to heal your land.

There is no retirement in My Kingdom, yet you encourage men and women to play in their final years, to reject all calls to be used in the work of My Son. My people, look and see, My storms struck at the very heart of your state because it is your hearts that are set against Me. Why do you run and hide rather than face the consequences of your own iniquity? The shaking that has begun will continue until it has worked its work in the hearts of My people. Storms come to shake the complacent and wake up the sleeping. Storms will continue with ever-increasing strength until My people humble themselves.

Do not pray for mercy, pray for judgment in My house that will bring glory to My Son and wholeness to His Body. He shall surely have a perfect bride, and He shall surely not return for her until I send Him. Why do you think that I will send Him for a carnal Bride? My people, let Me prepare during this greatest moment of Truth so that you will be ready when He comes. Take My shakings to heart and be cleansed and prepared. Become able to shine forth to a dying world that sees My glory in My people.

Elders, you are held responsible to call My people to Me. Even if you are ignorant of My Truth, your guilt remains because you have accepted the role of leader in your congregations. Thus saith the Lord.

ACT OF GOD DESTROYS NEW ORLEANS DAYS BEFORE "SOUTHERN DECADENCE"

PHILADELPHIA - Just days before "Southern Decadence", an annual homosexual celebration attracting tens of thousands of people to the French Quarters section of New Orleans, an act of God destroys the city.

"Southern Decadence" has a history of filling the French Quarters section of the city with drunken homosexuals engaging in sex acts in the public streets and bars. Last year, a local pastor sent video footage of sex acts being performed in front of police to the mayor, city council, and the media. City officials simply ignored the footage and continued to welcome and praise the weeklong celebration as being an "exciting event". However, Hurricane Katrina has put an end to the annual celebration of sin.

On the official "Southern Decadence" website (www.SouthernDecadence.com), it states that the annual event brought in "125,000 revelers" to New Orleans last year, increasing by thousands each year, and up from "over 50,000 revelers" in 1997. This year's 34th annual "Southern Decadence" was set for Wednesday, August 31, 2005 through Monday, September 5, 2005, but due to massive flooding and the damage left by the hurricane, Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco has ordered everyone to evacuate the city.

The past three mayors of New Orleans, including Sidney Barthelomew, Marc H. Morial, and C. Ray Nagin, issued official proclamations welcoming visitors to "Southern Decadence". Additionally, New Orleans City Council made other proclamations recognizing the annual homosexual celebration.

"Although the loss of lives is deeply saddening, this act of God destroyed a wicked city", stated Repent America director Michael Marcavage. "From 'Girls Gone Wild' to 'Southern Decadence', New Orleans was a city that opened its doors wide open to the public celebration of sin. May it never be the same", he continued.

New Orleans is also known for its Mardi Gras parties where thousands of drunken men revel in the streets to exchange plastic jewelry for drunken women to expose their breasts. This annual event sparked the creation of the "Girls Gone Wild" video series.

"Let us pray for those ravaged by this disaster. However, we must not forget that the citizens of New Orleans tolerated and welcomed the wickedness in their city for so long", Marcavage said. "May this act of God cause us all to think about what we tolerate in our city limits, and bring us trembling before the throne of Almighty God", Marcavage concluded.

A gust of air cools a monster's wrath, just in time

In terms of economic damage and lives lost, Katrina may turn out to be one of the worst hurricanes in U.S. history.

But the storm actually turned out to be much less powerful than predicted. Meteorologists say a puff of dry air coming out of the Midwest weakened Katrina just before it reached land, transforming a Category 5 monster into a less-threatening Category 3 storm (wow-wee!).

The last-minute gust also pushed Katrina slightly to the east of its Big Easy-bound trajectory, sparing New Orleans a direct hit -- though not horrendous harm.

"It was kind of an amazing sequence of events", said Peter Black, a meteorologist at the Hurricane Research Division of the federal government's Atlantic Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory.

On Sunday, meteorologists watched in awe as one of the most powerful hurricanes they had ever seen churned northward over the Gulf of Mexico on a direct bearing for New Orleans. Fed by unusually warm waters in the central gulf, Katrina easily pumped itself up to a Category 5 monster, with top winds approaching 175 mph. That afternoon a National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration aircraft flying through the storm pegged its minimum barometric pressure at 902 millibars, making Katrina the fourth most powerful hurricane ever observed.

But by the time it reached land Monday, Katrina was no stronger than any of a dozen or more hurricanes that have hit the United States in the past century.

... It was so startling... In my dream I saw tall buildings mostly submerged in water. There was an underlying gray cast to all the colors, and it seemed the buildings and city they were in had been abandoned. Very forlorn. Then I woke up completely and found myself singing "though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see, His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches over me".

Today when I was watching the Fox News coverage of New Orleans, one of the diagrams they used to explain the levee breach matched the image in my dream.
