David Eells (Re: Mike Doty)
Mike Doty came to us after being crippled, mentally and physically, for years. He had been in a terrible accident while on drugs, in which he was hit by a truck while he was riding a horse. His skull was broken and some of his brains were stuck to the highway. The horse was killed and Mike suffered what the doctors thought was irreparable brain and spinal column damage. They told him he would never be able to pick up more than a few pounds. They had to remove more of Mike's brain than what was lost on the highway. This left him with a short attention span, very poor memory, poor mobility and heavily drugged for anger and back pain. When Mike came to one of our meetings he became convinced of the Bible and with childlike faith began to act on and speak what he was hearing. Through our prayers of faith, within a week he was off all drugs and his mind and mobility began to return. His back pain was gone, too. Mike went back to the doctor who had operated on his spine. After the inspection, he said, "My God. What happened to you?" Mike told him that the Lord had healed him.
During this time, he became impressed with Mark 11:23,24: Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou taken up and cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that what he saith cometh to pass; he shall have it. Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive (Greek: received) them, and ye shall have them. He prayed in this way for his son Connor, who had been recently diagnosed with epilepsy and Tourette's Syndrome. Connor was having seizures, tics and cursing episodes. Mike's wife was complaining of the great cost of the drugs they had to buy. Mike began to confess to me that he just knew Connor was healed. He said, "I did just what you said. I commanded the demons to loose Connor and I believe I have received". I asked Mike once if he would like us to agree with him for Connor. He told me that it was not necessary because his prayer had healed him. I was reminded of how Jesus was awed at the childlike faith of the centurion and the Syrophoenician woman and met their needs.
The next week I had the opportunity to pray over Mike and so continued with a prayer for Connor, commanding the spirits of Tourette's and epilepsy to leave him. Mike phoned me, very excitedly, the next day, telling me that Connor was completely healed and had received no more attacks. Connor has been delivered ever since. Mike is now very active. He has put on roofs, carrying shingles up ladders on his back. He climbs trees and cuts the limbs. He is constantly joyful and all of his anger is gone. He speaks well with great mobility and is in excellent shape.
Without Mike's faith and confession, this miracle would not have been possible. Jesus gave us the example of expecting expressions of faith out of those whom He helped. Jesus said, As thou hast believed, [so] be it done unto thee and According to your faith be it done unto you. Let us learn from Mike's bold faith and receive God's promises like children.
