Galatians 6:7-8Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8For he that soweth unto his own flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth unto the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life.
Luke 10:38-42 38Now as they went on their way, he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at the Lordb s feet, and heard his word. 40But Martha was cumbered about much serving; and she came up to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister did leave me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41But the Lord answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art anxious and troubled about many things: 42but one thing is needful: for Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
James 1:21-24 21Wherefore putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. 22But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deluding your own selves. 23For if any one is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a mirror: 24for he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.
Matthew 13: 19-23 19When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the evil one, and snatcheth away that which hath been sown in his heart. This is he that was sown by the way side. 20And he that was sown upon the rocky places, this is he that heareth the word, and straightway with joy receiveth it; 21yet hath he not root in himself, but endureth for a while; and when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, straightway he stumbleth. 22And he that was sown among the thorns, this is he that heareth the word; and the care of the world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. 23And he that was sown upon the good ground, this is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; who verily beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
2 Peter 2 9-22 9the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment unto the day of judgment; 10but chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise dominion. Daring, self-willed, they tremble not to rail at dignities: 11whereas angels, though greater in might and power, bring not a railing judgment against them before the Lord. 12But these, as creatures without reason, born mere animals to be taken and destroyed, railing in matters whereof they are ignorant, shall in their destroying surely be destroyed, 13suffering wrong as the hire of wrong-doing; men that count it pleasure to revel in the day-time, spots and blemishes, revelling in their deceivings while they feast with you; 14having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing; 15forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the hire of wrong-doing; 16but he was rebuked for his own transgression: a dumb ass spake with manb s voice and stayed the madness of the prophet. 17These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm; for whom the blackness of darkness hath been reserved. 18For, uttering great swelling words of vanity, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by lasciviousness, those who are just escaping from them that live in error; 19promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he also brought into bondage. 20For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein and overcome, the last state is become worse with them than the first. 21For it were better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22It has happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog turning to his own vomit again, and the sow that had washed to wallowing in the mire.
Ecclesiastes 1 1-9 9That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. 10Is there a thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been long ago, in the ages which were before us.
Matthew 12:22-37, 22Then was brought unto him one possessed with a demon, blind and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the dumb man spake and saw. 23And all the multitudes were amazed, and said, Can this be the son of David? 24But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This man doth not cast out demons, but by Beelzebub the prince of the demons. 25And knowing their thoughts he said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand: 26and if Satan casteth out Satan, he is divided against himself; how then shall his kingdom stand? 27And if I by Beelzebub cast out demons, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges. 28But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. 29Or how can one enter into the house of the strong man, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. 31Therefore I say unto you, Every sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men; but the blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, nor in that which is to come. 33Either make the tree good, and its fruit good; or make the tree corrupt, and its fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by its fruit. 34Ye offspring of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35The good man out of his good treasure bringeth forth good things: and the evil man out of his evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. 36And I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
43But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of the man, passeth through waterless places, seeking rest, and findeth it not. 44Then he saith, I will return into my house whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man becometh worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this evil generation.
Luke 6: 21-23 21Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh. 22Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of manb s sake. 23Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy: for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for in the same manner did their fathers unto the prophets.
Proverbs 1:7, 20-23 7The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge;
But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.
Wisdom crieth aloud in the street;
She uttereth her voice in the broad places;
21She crieth in the chief place of concourse;
At the entrance of the gates,
In the city, she uttereth her words:
22How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity?
And scoffers delight them in scoffing,
And fools hate knowledge?
23Turn you at my reproof:
Behold, I will pour out my spirit upon you;
I will make known my words unto you.
Proverbs 2 1-22 1My son, if thou wilt receive my words,
And lay up my commandments with thee;
2So as to incline thine ear unto wisdom,
And apply thy heart to understanding;
3Yea, if thou cry after discernment,
And lift up thy voice for understanding;
4If thou seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hid treasures:
5Then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah,
And find the knowledge of God.
6For Jehovah giveth wisdom;
Out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding:
7He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright;
He is a shield to them that walk in integrity;
8That he may guard the paths of justice,
And preserve the way of his saints.
9Then shalt thou understand righteousness and justice,
And equity, yea, every good path.
10For wisdom shall enter into thy heart,
And knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;
11Discretion shall watch over thee;
Understanding shall keep thee:
12To deliver thee from the way of evil,
From the men that speak perverse things;
13Who forsake the paths of uprightness,
To walk in the ways of darkness;
14Who rejoice to do evil,
And delight in the perverseness of evil;
15Who are crooked in their ways,
And wayward in their paths:
16To deliver thee from the strange woman,
Even from the foreigner that flattereth with her words;
17That forsaketh the friend of her youth,
And forgetteth the covenant of her God:
18For her house inclineth unto death,
And her paths unto the dead;
19None that go unto her return again,
Neither do they attain unto the paths of life:
20That thou mayest walk in the way of good men,
And keep the paths of the righteous.
21For the upright shall dwell in the land,
And the perfect shall remain in it.
22But the wicked shall be cut off from the land,
And the treacherous shall be rooted out of it.
Proverbs 3:13-23 13Happy is the man that findeth wisdom,
And the man that getteth understanding.
14For the gaining of it is better than the gaining of silver,
And the profit thereof than fine gold.
15She is more precious than rubies:
And none of the things thou canst desire are to be compared unto her.
16Length of days is in her right hand;
In her left hand are riches and honor.
17Her ways are ways of pleasantness,
And all her paths are peace.
18She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her:
And happy is every one that retaineth her.
19Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth;
By understanding he established the heavens.
20By his knowledge the depths were broken up,
And the skies drop down the dew.
21My son, let them not depart from thine eyes;
Keep sound wisdom and discretion:
22So shall they be life unto thy soul,
And grace to thy neck.
23Then shalt thou walk in thy way securely,
And thy foot shall not stumble.
Proverbs 4:4-13,20-244And he taught me, and said unto me:
Let thy heart retain my words;
Keep my commandments, and live;
5Get wisdom, get understanding;
Forget not, neither decline from the words of my mouth;
6Forsake her not, and she will preserve thee;
Love her, and she will keep thee.
7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom;
Yea, with all thy getting get understanding.
8Exalt her, and she will promote thee;
She will bring thee to honor, when thou dost embrace her.
9She will give to thy head a chaplet of grace;
A crown of beauty will she deliver to thee.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings;
And the years of thy life shall be many.
11I have taught thee in the way of wisdom;
I have led thee in paths of uprightness.
12When thou goest, thy steps shall not be straitened;
And if thou runnest, thou shalt not stumble.
13Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go:
Keep her; for she is thy life.
Proverbs 19: 20-2120Hear counsel, and receive instruction,
That thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
21There are many devices in a manb s heart;
But the counsel of Jehovah, that shall stand.
Ecclesiastes 9: 13-18 13I have also seen wisdom under the sun on this wise, and it seemed great unto me: 14There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it. 15Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man. 16Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor manb s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard. 17The words of the wise heard in quiet are better than the cry of him that ruleth among fools. 18Wisdom is better than weapons of war; but one sinner destroyeth much good.
