Psa 94:11 Jehovah knoweth the thoughts of man, That they are vanity.

Psalm 88:15 I am afflicted and ready to die from my youth up. While I suffer thy terrors I am distracted. 16 Thy fierce wrath is gone over me; thy terrors have cut me off. 17 They came round about me like water all the day long; they compass me about together. 18 Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, and mine acquaintance into darkness.

Act 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know times or seasons, which the Father hath set within His own authority.

Mat 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready; for in an hour that ye think not the Son of man cometh.)

. (Acts 2:1) bWhen the day of Pentecost was now comeb&b

(Acts 1:4): band, being assembled together with them, he charged them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, said he, ye heard from me:b&b

(8) bBut ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.b

Acts 1:8, bb&ye shall receive power, when the Holy Spirit is come upon you:b

(Acts 2:1)bAnd when the day of Pentecost was now come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound as of the rushing of a mighty wind,b&b

(21) bb&as the Father hath sent me, even so send I you, 22 And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Spirit:b&b

(Acts 2:3), bAnd there appeared unto them tonguesb&being distributed like as of fireb&b (4) bAnd they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

(Matt. 3:11, Luke 3:16) He shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire.b

(James 3:2) bb&If any stumbleth not in word, the same is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body also.b

(Romans 8:26-27: bAnd in like manner the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity: for we know not how to pray as we ought;b&bb&but the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered; 27 and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.b

(Luke 11:13) b&how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?b

(1 Corinthians 14) bFor if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.b (15)bb&I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the mind also;b&b

(Jude 20) bBut you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,b&b keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercyb&b

(Acts 2:4) bAnd they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.b (5) bNow there were Jews living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And when this sound occurred, the crowd came together, and were bewildered because each one of them was hearing them speak in his own language.b (7, bThey were amazed and astonished, saying, bWhy, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 And how is it that we each hear them in our own language to which we were born? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the districts of Libya around Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabsbwe hear them in our own tongues speaking of the mighty deeds of God.b

(Acts 10:44) bWhile Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 45 All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. 46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God.b bThen Peter answered, 47 bSurely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?b 48 And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days.b

(Acts 11:1): bNow the apostles and the brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God. 2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him, 3 saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.b

(15) bAnd as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit. 17 If then God gave unto them the like gift as he did also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ who had believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?b b&And when they heard these things they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.b

(Acts 5:32) bAnd we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey him.b

(Acts 18:24) bNow a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by race, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the scriptures. 25 This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John: b&b 26: bb&and he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more accurately. 27 And when he was minded to pass over into Achaia, the brethren encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him: and when he was come, he helped them much that had believed through grace; 28 for he powerfully confuted the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.b

(Acts 19:) bAnd it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper country came to Ephesus, and found certain disciples and he said unto them, Did ye receive the Holy Spirit when ye believed? And they said unto him, Nay, we did not so much as hear whether the Holy Spirit was given. 3 And he said, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into Johnbs baptism. And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people that they should believe on him that should come after him, that is, on Jesus.b And when they heard this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.b

(Ezekiel 36:24), bFor I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land.b (25) bAnd I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you;b and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 bAnd I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and ye shall keep mine ordinances, and do them.b

(Acts 8:12) says, bAnd Simon also himself believed: and being baptized, he continued with Philip; and beholding signs and great miracles wrought, he was amazed.b bNow when the apostles that were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: 15 who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit: 16 for as yet it was fallen upon none of them: only they had been baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.b (17) bThen laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. 18 Now when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostlesb hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, 19 saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay my hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. 20 But Peter said unto him, Thy silver perish with thee, because thou hast thought to obtain the gift of God with money. 21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right before God.b

(Mark 16:17), bAnd these signs shall accompany them that believe: in my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak with tongues;b&b

(Mark 15:33-34) bAnd when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, bEloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?b which means, bMy God, my God, why have you forsaken me?bb

(Daniel 5:5) bIn the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote. 6 Then the king's countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, (I guess so) so that the joints of his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.b

(14)bI have heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in thee. 15 And now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof; but they could not show the interpretation of the thing. 16 But I have heard of thee, that thou canst give interpretations, and dissolve doubts

(26) bThis is the interpretation of the thing: mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and brought it to an end. 27 tekel; thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. 28 peres; thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.b

(Acts 2:33), bBeing therefore by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he hath poured forth this, which ye see and hear.b

(39) bFor to you is the promise, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call unto him.b

(Isaiah 28:9): bWhom will he teach knowledge? and whom will he make to understand the message? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts?b (10)bFor it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little. 11 Nay, but by men of strange lips and with another tongue will he speak to this people;b (12) bto whom he said, This is the rest, give ye rest to him that is weary; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. 13 Therefore shall the word of Jehovah be unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, there a little; that they may go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.b bWherefore hear the word of Jehovah, ye scoffers, that rule this people that is in Jerusalem:b

(1 Corinthians 14:21), bIn the law it is written, By men of strange tongues and by the lips of strangers will I speak unto this people; and not even thus will they hear me, saith the Lord. 22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to the unbelieving 16 bElse if thou bless with the spirit, how shall he that filleth the place of the unlearned say the Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he knoweth not what thou sayest?b

(22) but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to them that believe. 23 If therefore the whole church be assembled together and all speak with tongues 23, and there come in men unlearned or unbelieving, will they not say that ye are mad? 24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one unbelieving or unlearned, he is reproved by all, he is judged by all; 25 the secrets of his heart are made manifest; and so he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.b

(1 Corinthians 14:5) would have you all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy:

(39) Wherefore, my brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40 But let all things be done decently and in order.b forbid not to speak with tongues. But let all things be done decently and in order.b

(37) If any man thinketh himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him take knowledge of the things which I write unto you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.b

(26) bWhat is it then, brethren? When ye come together, each one hath a psalm, hath a teaching, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation.b
