Romans 10:9-10 Asv
I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an
Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God did not cast
off his people which he foreknew. Or know ye not what the scripture saith of
Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel: What then? That which Israel
seeketh for, that he obtained not; but the election obtained it, and the rest
were hardened: But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a
wild olive, wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of
the root of the fatness of the olive tree; glory not over the branches: but if
thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee. Well;
by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith. Be not
highminded, but fear: Behold then the goodness and severity of God: toward
them that fell, severity; but toward thee, Godb s goodness, if thou
continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also,
if they continue not in their unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able
to graft them in again. For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a
wild olive tree, and wast grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree;
how much more shall these, which are the natural branches , be grafted into
their own olive tree? For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this
mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits, that a hardening in part hath
befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;
Romans 11:1-2, 7, 17-18, 20, 22-25 ASV
For whom he foreknew, he also foreordained to be conformed to the image of his
Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren: and whom he
foreordained, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified:
and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
Romans 8:29-30 ASV
But it is not as though the word of God hath come to nought. For they are not
all Israel, that are of Israel: and that he might make known the riches of his
glory upon vessels of mercy, which he afore prepared unto glory, And it shall
be, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, There
shall they be called sons of the living God. And Isaiah crieth concerning
Israel, If the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, it
is the remnant that shall be saved:
Romans 9:6, 23-23, 26-27 ASV
That which hath been is that which shall be; and that which hath been done is
that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Ecclesiastes 1:9 ASV
I am inquired of by them that asked not for me ; I am found of them that
sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called
by my name. I will destine you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the
slaughter; because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not
hear; but ye did that which was evil in mine eyes, and chose that wherein I
delighted not. Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, my servants
shall eat, but ye shall be hungry; behold, my servants shall drink, but ye
shall be thirsty; behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be put to
shame;
Isaiah 65:1, 12-13 ASV
I am inquired of by them that asked not for me ; I am found of them that
sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation that was not called
by my name. I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people,
that walk in a way that is not good, after their own thoughts; a people that
provoke me to my face continually, sacrificing in gardens, and burning incense
upon bricks; that sit among the graves, and lodge in the secret places; that
eat swineb s flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;
that say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me, for I am holier than thou.
These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. Behold, it is
written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, yea, I will
recompense into their bosom, your own iniquities, and the iniquities of your
fathers together, saith Jehovah, that have burned incense upon the mountains,
and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I first measure their work
into their bosom. Thus saith Jehovah, As the new wine is found in the
cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not, for a blessing is in it: so will I do
for my servantsb sake, that I may not destroy them all. And I will bring
forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah an inheritor of my mountains; and
my chosen shall inherit it, and my servants shall dwell there. And Sharon
shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for herds to lie
down in, for my people that have sought me.
Isaiah 65:1-10 ASV
He said therefore again unto them, I go away, and ye shall seek me, and shall
die in your sin: whither I go, ye cannot come.
John 8:21 ASV
Now these things happened unto them by way of example; and they were written
for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.
1 Corinthians 10:11 ASV
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one
be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Jesus answered, Verily,
verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot
enter into the kingdom of God.
John 3:3, 5 Asv
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ did put on Christ.
Galatians 3:27 ASV
but God, being rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, for by
grace have ye been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the
gift of God; Wherefore remember, that once ye, the Gentiles in the flesh, who
are called Uncircumcision by that which is called Circumcision, in the flesh,
made by hands; that ye were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from
the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise,
having no hope and without God in the world. in whom each several building,
fitly framed together, groweth into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom ye also
are builded together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:4, 8-8, 11-12, 21-22 ASV
The vision of Isaiah the son of Amoz, which he saw concerning Judah and
Jerusalem, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah.
Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth; for Jehovah hath spoken: I have
nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. The ox
knoweth his owner, and the ass his masterb s crib; but Israel doth not
know, my people doth not consider. Ah sinful nation, a people laden with
iniquity, a seed of evil-doers, children that deal corruptly! they have
forsaken Jehovah, they have despised the Holy One of Israel, they are
estranged and gone backward. Why will ye be still stricken, that ye revolt
more and more? the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint. From the
sole of the foot even unto the head there is no soundness in it; but wounds,
and bruises, and fresh stripes: they have not been closed, neither bound up,
neither mollified with oil. Your country is desolate; your cities are burned
with fire; your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is
desolate, as overthrown by strangers. And the daughter of Zion is left as a
booth in a vineyard, as a lodge in a garden of cucumbers, as a besieged city.
Except Jehovah of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have
been as Sodom, we should have been like unto Gomorrah. Hear the word of
Jehovah, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of
Gomorrah. What unto me is the multitude of your sacrifices? saith Jehovah: I
have had enough of the burnt-offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and
I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he-goats. When ye
come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to trample my
courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; new
moon and sabbath, the calling of assemblies,b I cannot away with iniquity
and the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul
hateth; they are a trouble unto me; I am weary of bearing them. And when ye
spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you; yea, when ye make
many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make
you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do
evil; learn to do well; seek justice, relieve the oppressed, judge the
fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith
Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and
obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: but if ye refuse and rebel, ye
shall be devoured with the sword; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.
How is the faithful city become a harlot! she that was full of justice!
righteousness lodged in her, but now murderers. Thy silver is become dross,
thy wine mixed with water. Thy princes are rebellious, and companions of
thieves; every one loveth bribes, and followeth after rewards: they judge not
the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them. Therefore
saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, the Mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me
of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies; and I will turn my hand
upon thee, and thoroughly purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy
tin; and I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at
the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called The city of righteousness, a
faithful town. Zion shall be redeemed with justice, and her converts with
righteousness. But the destruction of transgressors and sinners shall be
together, and they that forsake Jehovah shall be consumed. For they shall be
ashamed of the oaks which ye have desired, and ye shall be confounded for the
gardens that ye have chosen. For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and
as a garden that hath no water. And the strong shall be as tow, and his work
as a spark; and they shall both burn together, and none shall quench them.
Isaiah 1:1-31 ASV
For freedom did Christ set us free: stand fast therefore, and be not entangled
again in a yoke of bondage.
Galatians 5:1 ASV
At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of Jehovah; and all the
nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of Jehovah, to Jerusalem:
neither shall they walk any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.
Jeremiah 3:17 ASV
Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. But as then he that
was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, so
also it is now. Howbeit what saith the scripture? Cast out the handmaid and
her son: for the son of the handmaid shall not inherit with the son of the
freewoman. Wherefore, brethren, we are not children of a handmaid, but of the
freewoman.
Galatians 4:28-31 ASV
For this cause it is of faith, that it may be according to grace; to the end
that the promise may be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the
law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of
us all
Romans 4:16 Asv
For if that which passeth away was with glory, much more that which remaineth
is in glory. and are not as Moses, who put a veil upon his face, that the
children of Israel should not look stedfastly on the end of that which was
passing away: but their minds were hardened: for until this very day at the
reading of the old covenant the same veil remaineth, it not being revealed to
them that it is done away in Christ. But unto this day, whensoever Moses is
read, a veil lieth upon their heart. But whensoever it shall turn to the Lord,
the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit: and where the Spirit of
the Lord is, there is liberty.
2 Corinthians 3:11, 13-17 asv
And Jehovah spake unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, This
month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month
of the year to you. Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In
the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb,
according to their fathersb houses, a lamb for a household: and if the
household be too little for a lamb, then shall he and his neighbor next unto
his house take one according to the number of the souls; according to every
manb s eating ye shall make your count for the lamb. Your lamb shall be
without blemish, a male a year old: ye shall take it from the sheep, or from
the goats: and ye shall keep it until the fourteenth day of the same month;
and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it at even.
And they shall take of the blood, and put it on the two side-posts and on the
lintel, upon the houses wherein they shall eat it. And they shall eat the
flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; with bitter herbs
they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor boiled at all with water, but roast
with fire; its head with its legs and with the inwards thereof. And ye shall
let nothing of it remain until the morning; but that which remaineth of it
until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it: with your
loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye
shall eat it in haste: it is Jehovahb s passover. For I will go through the
land of Egypt in that night, and will smite all the first-born in the land of
Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute
judgments: I am Jehovah. And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the
houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and there
shall no plague be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
And this day shall be unto you for a memorial, and ye shall keep it a feast to
Jehovah: throughout your generations ye shall keep it a feast by an ordinance
for ever. Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye
shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread
from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from
Israel. And in the first day there shall be to you a holy convocation, and in
the seventh day a holy convocation; no manner of work shall be done in them,
save that which every man must eat, that only may be done by you. And ye shall
observe the feast of unleavened bread; for in this selfsame day have I brought
your hosts out of the land of Egypt: therefore shall ye observe this day
throughout your generations by an ordinance for ever. In the first month , on
the fourteenth day of the month at even, ye shall eat unleavened bread, until
the one and twentieth day of the month at even. Seven days shall there be no
leaven found in your houses: for whosoever eateth that which is leavened, that
soul shall be cut off from the congregation of Israel, whether he be a
sojourner, or one that is born in the land. Ye shall eat nothing leavened; in
all your habitations shall ye eat unleavened bread. Then Moses called for all
the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out, and take you lambs
according to your families, and kill the passover. And ye shall take a bunch
of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel
and the two side-posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you
shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. For Jehovah will pass
through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel,
and on the two side-posts, Jehovah will pass over the door, and will not
suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And ye shall
observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. And it
shall come to pass, when ye are come to the land which Jehovah will give you,
according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. And it shall
come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this
service? that ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of Jehovahb s passover, who
passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the
Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and
worshipped. And the children of Israel went and did so; as Jehovah had
commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they. And it came to pass at midnight, that
Jehovah smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt, from the first-born of
Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the first-born of the captive that was in
the dungeon; and all the first-born of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the
night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great
cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And he
called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, get you forth from
among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve Jehovah, as
ye have said. Take both your flocks and your herds, as ye have said, and be
gone; and bless me also. And the Egyptians were urgent upon the people, to
send them out of the land in haste; for they said, We are all dead men. And
the people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading-troughs
being bound up in their clothes upon their shoulders. And the children of
Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians
jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment. And Jehovah gave the people
favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they
asked. And they despoiled the Egyptians. And the children of Israel journeyed
from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot that were men,
besides children. And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks,
and herds, even very much cattle. And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough
which they brought forth out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they
were thrust out of Egypt, and could not tarry, neither had they prepared for
themselves any victuals. Now the time that the children of Israel dwelt in
Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of
four hundred and thirty years, even the selfsame day it came to pass, that all
the hosts of Jehovah went out from the land of Egypt. It is a night to be much
observed unto Jehovah for bringing them out from the land of Egypt: this is
that night of Jehovah, to be much observed of all the children of Israel
throughout their generations. And Jehovah said unto Moses and Aaron, This is
the ordinance of the passover: there shall no foreigner eat thereof; but every
manb s servant that is bought for money, when thou hast circumcised him,
then shall he eat thereof. A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat
thereof. In one house shall it be eaten; thou shalt not carry forth aught of
the flesh abroad out of the house; neither shall ye break a bone thereof. All
the congregation of Israel shall keep it. And when a stranger shall sojourn
with thee, and will keep the passover to Jehovah, let all his males be
circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one
that is born in the land: but no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. One
law shall be to him that is home-born, and unto the stranger that sojourneth
among you. Thus did all the children of Israel; as Jehovah commanded Moses and
Aaron, so did they. And it came to pass the selfsame day, that Jehovah did
bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their hosts.
Exodus 12:1-51 ASV
I know thy tribulation, and thy poverty (but thou art rich), and the blasphemy
of them that say they are Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of
Satan.
Revelation 2:9 ASV
